Our client in the Norton Shores, MI area is seeking a highly motivated Automation Process Engineer to monitor, troubleshoot, and improve processes directly related to the melting and manufacturing process.

Position Overview:
The Automation Process Engineer will be responsible for evaluating manufacturing operations, developing best practices, improving efficiency, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The role requires a highly analytical, detail-oriented individual with experience in mechanical systems and process automation.
Primary Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with all company and regulatory EH&S and 6S policies and procedures.
Identify and implement process improvements to optimize equipment, personnel, materials, and utilities.
Lead cost reduction, interference management, and labor productivity enhancement initiatives.
Develop and implement best manufacturing practices, standards, and procedures.
Assess equipment, operational sequences, and material flows to identify automation opportunities.
Improve data collection methods and update standards to model workload capacities effectively.
Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and equipment manufacturers for project support.
Maintain and develop advanced manufacturing technology aligned with company objectives.
Prepare reports, write procedures, draft manufacturing work instructions, and conduct operator training as needed.
Manage assigned projects ensuring timely completion within set parameters.
Provide technical support to all organizational levels on various assigned projects.

Ability to read and design blueprints, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
Experience Required:
5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience preferred.
Background in mechanical systems, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and motor drives.
Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
