About The Position

Unit CCMC (ICU) (Cost Center 29) # of beds 18-Beds – All Private Rooms (All have (-) pressure capability for COVID patients) Ratios Typically 1:2. CRRT/Organ Donation 1:1. May have to stretch to 1:3 w/ overflow/stepdown. Average daily census = 13 Required Certifications BLS, ACLS, NIHSS are all required Common diagnoses/Types of patients Sepsis, PNA, COVID, CHF, COPD, DKA, OD, Renal Failure, Neurosurgeries – lumbar drains, Ventriculostomies, General Surgery, occasional MI, & Vascular patients Experience or ‘Must have’ skills Must have at least 1 year of critical care experience. Prior travel preferred. Must be competent w/ CRRT, IABP, Vents, post-code/therapeutic hypothermia & skilled with all vasoactive medications, sedation, & paralytics Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes – All critical care gtts are titrated within ordered parameters. ICU RN’s are also responsible for performing care/removal of Central lines, etc. Common titratable &/or set rate drips (noted above) Charge Nurse/House Supervisor Free Charge Nurse Monday-Friday Day shift (may carry assignment during high census). Charge Nurse does take an assignment on Nights & weekends
