System One is seeking a Project Engineer / Coordinator in Orlando, FL to be responsible for tracking and reporting progress of engineering support activities for all Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, and Auxiliaries Service Engineering projects, and for monitoring open actions submitted to and accepted by the department. Identify process improvements to make schedule performance and resource allocation visible, provide early identification of potential schedule deviations, when required deliverables cannot meet schedule expectations provide schedule impacts of potential modifications for those authorized to make assignment/schedule changes.

12-month contract opportunity
Pay rate up to $29/hr. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
Work schedule: Monday through Friday, standard business hours

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Create an organized schedule for each assigned project from tasks defined by Systems Engineer and Engineering Managers/Leads, accounting for resource workload levels, to meet commercial need dates utilizing P6 scheduling tool.
Identify and create milestones within each projects schedule that are required for reporting out to the business.
Host status meetings, distribute minutes, maintain the Action Item list and provide outage level schedule risk reports (red, yellow, green).
Formulating project parameters and assigning responsibilities to the most capable employees and monitoring the project team.
Cooperating and communicating with the project manager and other project participants and collaborating with senior engineers to create more efficient project methods and to maintain the project’s profitability.
Creating frameworks to measure the project’s metrics and data collection.
Engage with Systems Engineer and Engineering Managers/Leads to improve engineering schedule fidelity on a continuous basis.
Develop and maintain automated reporting on department performance related to on-time task completion.
Track schedule performance of department accepted projects by working with department managers/leads to verify assigned engineers are updating their time spent in Windchill and communicating risk on assigned tasks.
Work with management to provide routine reports that enable progress assessment on committed projects and engineering resource availability and make recommendations on improving these reports.
Follow the planning and implementation of new products to ensure that emergent engineering action items are addressed. This interaction will involve communications with service operations, Field Service, Manufacturing, Purchasing and other relevant organizations.
Maintain a forecast for proposals and work with System Engineer and Engineering Managers to define a preliminary schedule for proposed work. Communicate deadline for starting work to the sales leads.
Identify and propose solutions for priority conflicts due to outage schedule shifts or new work requests.
Support each department as needed for creating purchase requests.
Perform other such duties as may be required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & EDUCATION

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant Engineering field from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 0 to 1 years of engineering or project management experience is required or none engineering degree (High school diploma or equivalent) with 3 or more years of experience in schedule management, either coordinating and/or assisting in small to large projects. PMP certification is preferred. (Some work credit may be given for MS or PhD degrees based on the relevancy of course and related project experience).
SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Excellent project management and supervision skills. Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as outage reports and technical specifications. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations to customers, clients, vendors, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to perform necessary calculations to satisfy job requirements.
Ability to make judgment decisions based on management direction, specifications, or technical requirements.
Proficient in MS Office applications (e.g., Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Visio) and specialized scheduling applications with emphasis on Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and MS Power BI. Experience with Windchill ProjectLink, SAP, and Microsoft Dynamics are preferred.
