Status: Part Time 48 Hours

SALARY RANGE: 81,843.84 – 126,846.72YEARLY

General Summary:

A licensed Pharmacist responsible for assuring Pharmacy is providing the highest standards pertaining to patient and staff safety. Assuring the Pharmacy is compliant with all Joint Commission and other Federal and State regulatory agencies overseeing Bayhealth. Incumbent is responsible for investigating all Safety First Reports and responding appropriately.

Responsibilities:

1. Coordinates all activities related to medication safety and regulatory compliance: a) Reporting b) System and process evaluation c) Formulation of recommendations and initiatives d) Coordination of intervention strategies e) Monitoring of activities related to medication safety and regulatory compliance
2. Identifies key projects related to medication safety and regulatory compliance.
3. Accountable for coordinating the implementation of these projects system-wide.
4. Ensures compliance with State and Federal Regulations as well as legal requirements relating to medication safety and regulatory compliance.
5. Assists in the Accreditation Process.
6. Conducts Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis.
7. Identifies safety and regulatory deficiencies; suggests and helps to implement appropriate corrective-actions.
8. Participates in the departmental and unit based improvement process on a routine basis and other task force / committees as designated.
9. Maintains expert knowledge of the defined standards and criteria used by High Reliability Organizations.
