Responsible for the pulmonary care of critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under the direction of a physician with minimal supervision. Performs patient assessments and institutes respiratory care plans. Performs various technical and diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures in all areas of the hospital.
CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Beeville is designated by the Texas Department of Health as a Level IV Trauma Center, providing 24 hour emergency and intensive care services for critically ill or injured patients, and stabilizing some 16,500 patients in the ER each year. CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Beeville offers Emergency Services, Intensive Care, Medical Surgical Services, Obstetrics, Surgical Services, Critical Care, and Rehabilitation Services. The hospital has three operating rooms; eight same-day surgery rooms; two endoscopy rooms; Women’s Services includes nine birthing suites and a full service nursery, with access to a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Ventilator management (i.e. setup and operation);
Oxygen delivery devices and therapeutic monitoring;
Chest film analysis;
Bloodgas collection and analysis;
EKG analysis;
Cleaning and stocking of equipment and supplies as necessary;
Participate in CAP and JC surveys.
RRTs may function as Shift Leader or serve in the capacity of Team Leader
Therapeutic gas management and monitoring, including INO and HeO2;
Pulmonary Function Testing;
Hemodynamic Monitoring;
Waveform analysis;
Polysomnography;
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC required
