About the facility A large hospital is seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for locum tenens coverage.

About the facility location The facility is located in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

About the clinician’s workday This position follows a 3×12 schedule, with shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, including one night of call per week and one weekend every six weeks.

The APP-run service typically manages 68 patients daily, with 23 APPs covering weekdays and one overnight.

A surgeon is on-call at all times.

The role requires competence in first-assisting, endoscopic EVH harvesting, and line placement.

Responsibilities include first-assisting in cardiac surgeries, managing pre- and postoperative inpatient care in the CCU and telemetry units, performing bedside diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and ensuring effective communication among healthcare teams.

Additional duties include participating in data collection for departmental research and maintaining collaboration across clinical services.
