Great Hearts Academies is a nonprofit charter management organization (CMO) that operates classical preparatory K-12 public charter schools. Our academies cultivate the minds and hearts of students through the pursuit of truth, goodness and beauty. We currently serve schools in Arizona, Texas, and Louisiana, and provide additional communities with the Great Hearts liberal arts model of public education and, in the process, aim to restore excellence to American public education. Position Summary

The position objective is to fulfill the school’s obligation to students by administering and facilitating the mission and philosophy of the institution. The Director of Campus Operations is responsible for the overall administration and supervision of the total operation of the school on a day-to-day basis. The Director of Campus Operations will report to the headmaster(s) but will also work closely with the Arizona Leadership team.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Drive 100% student enrollment at campus through student recruitment efforts

  • Drive average daily student attendance with a goal of 97.50% and student persistence year-over-year

  • Ensure students and teachers enjoy a safe and clean building every day

  • Manage student drop, pick up, traffic flow logistics, and event management

  • Manage student recess and lunch schedules and logistics

  • Fostering a strong customer service focused team

  • Lead process improvement projects as needed that impact operational processes

Qualifications, Competencies & Strengths

The Director of Operations position offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a unique organization that is changing K-12 education in this country while also providing for personal professional growth. While experience in education is not a requirement, Great Hearts is seeking team members who are passionately committed to K-12 education reform, with a combination of technical knowledge, business acumen and interpersonal skills, but who also works well independently to achieve team goals. The ideal candidate will be results driven, have the capacity to manage multiple projects and teams, and thrive in a dynamic and fast paced environment. Similarly, experience working within a high-growth, geographically dispersed, multi-unit operating environment is also a plus.

Education, Competencies & Strengths

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, Education or related field or equivalent major or experience preferred

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Business, Sales, Customer Service, or Marketing

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and customer service skills are crucial for success

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with all stakeholders

  • Achievement-oriented and diligent work ethic

  • Demonstrated professionalism; exhibits responsibility and ownership of tasks and projects

  • Strong communication abilities, both verbal and written, are necessary for this role

Additional Requirements

Type of clearance: fingerprint clearance and background check.

Physical functions: Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May be required to move or position equipment up to 50 pounds approximately.
