Director of Supply Chain/Operations – Flavor/Chemical Manufacturing

Job Summary:
The General Manager/Supply Chain Operations Director is accountable for the overall
performance, operational efficiency, and success of our light manufacturing facility specializing in the production, reformulation and distribution of specialty ingredients, flavors and chemicals. This role involves managing all aspects of the facilitys operations and supply chain, ensuring the safe, productive, and profitable distribution of high-quality products that meet and exceed customer expectations. The General Manager/Supply Chain Operations Director will drive continuous improvement in systems, processes, materials, while fostering the growth and development of employees to ensure the consistent availability of superior products.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in ingredient, flavor and/or chemical processing, with a proven track record in supply chain management, including distribution, warehousing, inventory control, and shipping/receiving. Familiarity with quality control, packaging, safety, and maintenance functions is a necessity. Strong leadership skills in managing cross-functional teams and promoting employee development are essential to ensuring the operational efficiency and long-term growth of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational/Supply Chain Management:
Oversee daily facility operations/supply chain, including warehouse, distribution, order
fulfillment, and inventory management, utilizing Sage WMS or similar platforms.
Ensure the facility maintains high standards of quality, efficiency, and productivity.
Identify and resolve process bottlenecks to enhance productivity and reduce operational
costs.
Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and improve plant
performance.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality assurance standards.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of facility employees, fostering a collaborative
and high-performance work environment.
Set clear goals and expectations for team members and provide regular feedback through
performance evaluations.
Identify training and safety needs, implementing programs to enhance employee skills
and knowledge.
Promote employee engagement and encourage continuous learning.
Continuous Improvement:
Drive a culture of operational excellence by championing continuous improvement
initiatives across the facility.
Lead the implementation of Lean manufacturing practices, such as Kaizen, Six Sigma,
and 5S, to eliminate waste and optimize processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate best practices and process
improvements.
Strategic Planning and Budgeting:
Partner with senior management to define and execute facility strategies that align with
company goals and objectives.
Develop and monitor the facility budget, ensuring cost control and adherence to financial
targets.
Evaluate and recommend investments in equipment, technology, and infrastructure to
support the growth and efficiency of the facility.

Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
Minimum of 8+ years of experience in plant management, supply chain, and distribution, preferably in the food ingredients, specialty chemicals, or flavor manufacturing/distribution environment.
Experience with Sage WMS or similar inventory management systems.
Expertise in continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) and their practical application in a manufacturing setting.
In-depth knowledge of industry regulations, including food safety standards and systems (HAACP, GMPs, SQF).
Strong understanding of safety and regulatory compliance within the food manufacturing industry.
Desired Qualifications:
Proven experience in driving operational/supply chain improvements and achieving measurable results.
In-depth knowledge of quality control, packaging, and maintenance functions in a manufacturing environment.
Expertise in cost control, budgeting, and resource allocation.
The Supply Chain / Operations Director plays a pivotal role in ensuring the
