As an Inventory Control & Logistics Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our logistics operations, which include inventory management, transportation, warehousing and ensuring efficient and timely delivery of goods to our customers. You will collaborate with various internal departments, suppliers and distributors to streamline processes and improve overall supply chain efficiency.

Position Description:

Perform inventory control duties and activities associated with the manufacturing, engineering, and production planning groups. The work expectation will require knowledge of general tasks involved with the Production Planning and Inventory Control work areas along with proficient use of the MFI electronic ERP software systems. Duties may include such tasks as preparation of data, filing, compiling, and maintaining control records and related files, to activities associated with inventory accuracy and engineering/quality documents to manufacturing and other operating departments. Develop and implement logistics strategies, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company objectives and customer needs.

Essential Functions:

  • Receive various parts and supplies and ensure they are inventoried and put in the correct location.
  • Ensure that the facility is clean, well-organized with parts and product inventory properly labeled and easy to find.
  • Prepare and analyze weekly cycle counts for purchased and manufactured throughout the shop.
  • Engages in daily tasks including process improvement, inventory control, and monitoring goals.
  • Process non-conformance reports.
  • Coordinates all location assignment for purchased and manufactured items.
  • Analyze negative inventories and work the appropriate areas for resolution.
  • Analyze and perform the necessary transactions for obsolete inventory.
  • Manage and optimize inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing excess inventory
  • Coordinate transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with transportation companies
  • Monitor logistics performance metrics and implement improvements as needed

Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • PC skills including some knowledge of a Manufacturing ERP system
