Under minimal supervision, is responsible for the technical maintenance, work flow and currency of one or more MHMH Laboratory Sections, including: Blood Bank, Chemistry/Immuno Chemistry, Hematology, Histology, Laboratory Information Systems/Send-Outs, Microbiology, Urinalysis/Drug Screening and Serology. In addition to Section Head duties, performs the duties of a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Technologist, or Histotech throughout the Laboratory on a regular basis as assigned

Whats Required:
Completion of two years of advanced technical training (MLT), including a six-month clinical internship, or completion of a bachelor’s degree in medical technology (MT), ASCP certification as a Histologic Technician
A minimum of five years of experience in Munson Healthcare Manistee Hospital’s Laboratory, or another CLIA licensed laboratory.
Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), or certification by the American Society of Medical Technologists (ASMT), or other recognized national certification for medical laboratory personnel.
BCLS certification required.
