*Summary: *Mercy Hospital in Portland, Maine, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Pharmacy to lead and oversee all aspects of our hospital pharmacy operations. The Director will be responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of pharmaceutical services across the hospital, maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards, and advancing clinical pharmacy practices. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker with strong clinical knowledge, operational expertise, and the ability to foster a collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate will be committed to excellence in patient care, innovation in pharmacy services, and continuous improvement. *Responsibilities:*
* Works with hospital administration on planning, organizing and directing pharmacy operations and ensuring compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
* Monitors activities of the Pharmaceutical Services Department and takes appropriate action as necessary to ensure efficient and effective operation.
* Works closely with the nursing and medical staffs and other clinical department managers in addressing pharmaceutical services issues as they are related to the services provided to all patients ranging from the newborn to the elderly. Understands that there are dosage variations between newborns, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics and knows where to find appropriate information.
* Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
* Provides clinical pharmacy support services including discharge counseling, pharmacy to dose services, pain consults, etc.

*Other Information *:
* 5 years or more of hospital pharmacy experience.
* Prior pharmacy leadership experience preferred.
* Required Registered Pharmacist

* Required Bachelor’s Degree
* Doctor of pharmacy preferred.
