Education:

• Minimum of a college or associate degree, preferably in engineering, laboratory technology, or with mechanical aptitude.

Must-have skills:

• Technical skills

• Critical thinking

• Troubleshooting and logical thinking

• Communication skills, especially in dealing with customers

• Experience: 5-8 years

Nice-to-have skills:

• Experience with medical instruments or medical equipment, servicing lab equipment, and mechanical aptitude

Knowledge:

• Deep professional know-how and experience in one Sub Job Family

Our client is seeking a Service Engineer to fill a Senior Professional Position which need senior professional expertise, with extensive functional, commercial and/or technical knowledge in an area of competence. The Service Engineer will integrate analysis, development, testing and implementation. They interpret and functionally influence policy and guidelines in their area of business / technology, and develop processes and systems to deliver functional objectives. They typically plan own work according to targets agreed, within a quarterly up to an annual cycle, by integrating resources in a project driven environment. The Service Engineer will provide functional advice and guidance to colleagues and customers. A chartered professional qualification or equivalent is typically associated with grades (though not necessary).

Key Responsibilities:

• Completes broad scope of technical tasks including installation/commissioning, maintenance and evaluation of customers equipment and systems among others

• Determines priorities of tasks and actions and schedules measures accordingly.

• Supports customer remotely and onsite and provides 2nd and 3rd level user support in case of arising issues.

• Contributes to or conducts the maintenance and improvement of internal tools, equipment, processes, and data repositories.

• Contributes to or executes activities for estimation, planning, and review of technical tasks in support of overall project acquisition, negotiation, planning and management (partly before PM100).

• Adheres to relevant processes and regulations.

• May manage sub-contractors and monitors delivery.

• May be involved in technical design and developments for service offerings.

Impacts:

• Is expected to integrate processes and results from other workflows and disciplines to develop and accountably propose appropriate and effective solutions for significant parts of solutions.

Additional Details:

Travel required primarily in the San Diego area, with possible travel to Orange County and Inland Empire areas.
